Frontiers: The Heartland Institute for Clinical and Translational Research

Frontiers is a regional network of medical centers and hospitals that spans the Kansas-Missouri state line in an effort to promote clinical and translational research in the area – research that transforms basic science discoveries in a laboratory into cures and therapies for patients.

Frontiers is a Clinical and Translational Science Award, or CTSA, site, and is part of a national group of medical research institutions funded by the National Institutes of Health. The CTSA consortium includes 61 different medical centers across the United States. Frontiers offers a variety of services to clinical and translational researchers, including space to conduct clinical trials, funding for pilot projects and a wide range of consultations on specific research projects.
